AAACU's Community Donations Don't Slow Down During Pandemic
While the current pandemic has changed many day-to-day operations, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) has not slowed down its commitment to community donations.
AAACU recently made donations to the four following organizations
Caring Place Atlanta
The Caring Place provides food and clothing services to those throughout Montmorency County. AAACU made a $1,000 donation to The Caring Place to help ensure community members would have access to food during this pandemic.
Friends Together Alpena
Through the hardwork and dedication of its employees and the generosity of its membership, AAACU raised $1,664 in monetary donations to Friends Together Alpena.
Friends Together helps those throughout Alpena and the surrounding communities touched by cancer by offering support groups, assistance with transportation to medical appointments, community education events and an open door so that no one has to go through cancer alone.
Along with member donations, AAACU’s main branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for the Friends Together Alpena.
St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul of Oscoda provides emergency food assistance to those in need throughout the community. It has been in operation since 1982 through the Sacred Heart Parish and is funded through community donation.
In an effort to support those in its community, AAACU made a $1,000 donation to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry to help ensure community members would have access to food during this pandemic.
Feed the Need Alpena
Feed The Need Alpena works with the Food Bank of Northeast Michigan to provide more than 500 families each week with food through their Pop-Up Pantry.
AAACU also made a $1,000 donation to the organization to support those during COVID-19.
