Michigan CUs Named to National Best Workplaces List
Five Michigan credit unions made a list designating them as some of the best places to work in the country.
LMCU, Consumers CU, MSUFCU, DFCU Financial and Michigan First CU all made the national 101 Best and Brightest to Work for List in 2014.
The Best and Brightest to Work for competition honors organizations that show a commitment to employees’ well-being, and enrichment. Organizations are assessed in categories such as: work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, and retention.
LMCU has been honored seven times in the west Michigan market, and also received recognition in the Detroit market before landing the national designation.
“This is wonderful validation of our corporate culture, and how it applies equally to both our members and employees,” said Nora Swart, senior vice president of talent at LMCU. “We strive to make each member experience positive and favorable, and we work just as hard to make sure every employee feels valued.”
DFCU posted this response to the honor on its website.
“At DFCU Financial, we invest significant resources into attracting and developing top-notch talent,” DFCU President and CEO Mark Shobe said.
The message went on to say the achievement is a testament to DFCU’s commitment to creating an environment that allows employees to grow and to make a positive impact in the community.
For its part, along with Best and Brightest National designation, MSUFCU was also recently ranked number one in the large employer category through the Detroit Free Press’ annual Top Workplaces.
This is what MSUFCU CEO Patrick McPharlin said about that honor in September of 2014.
"We just believe that if the employees are happy going to work, they'll provide good service."Go to main navigation
