Participants Complete Part One of Enhanced Financial Counseling Training Program

On July 31, 60 Michigan credit union professionals gathered at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor for the first live training and testing session of part one of the Enhanced Financial Counseling Training Program. After Part 2 in October and successful testing, participants will earn the CUNA certification of Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC).

These trainings use CUNA’s FiCEP curriculum, enhanced with live training and testing with the assistance of the National Credit Union Foundation. The Michigan Credit Union Foundation provides participants with enhancements including webinars and live training sessions. Part 2 sessions will begin in August and wrap up with another live training and testing session in October.

Single-Day Training on IRAs and HSAs Available

Credit unions looking for staff training on Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) may begin registering for individual day workshops being held Oct. 3–5 in Traverse City at The Hotel Indigo. Registration is just $219 per person, per day. Participants may choose to attend 1-, 2- or 3-days based on interests and experience levels.

Registration Now Open for Intentional Credit Union Leadership Workshop

Online registration has opened for the MCUL & Affiliates 2018 Intentional Credit Union Leadership workshop.The popular event returns to the Grand Rapids Downtown Market on Nov. 7–8 and features Kevin Smith, “Preparing for Leadership,” Chip Lutz, “Leveraging People for Success” and Sarah Gibson, “Emotional Intelligence for Coaches.” Registration is $399 per person.
