14 Michigan Credit Unions Named 2026 Top Workplaces by Detroit Free Press
Fourteen Michigan credit unions have been recognized among the state's best places to work in the Detroit Free Press' 2026 Michigan Top Workplaces awards.
Now in its 19th year, the annual program recognizes organizations that have built strong workplace cultures based on feedback from their employees. This year's list includes 203 employers across Michigan, with winners ranked in small, midsize and large workplace categories.
Three credit unions — DFCU Financial, Genisys Credit Union and Michigan First Credit Union — have earned a spot on the list every year since the program began in 2008.

- Community Choice Credit Union — No. 45 (14 years)
- University of Michigan Credit Union — No. 50 (10 years)
- Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union — No. 52 (14 years)
- Wildfire Credit Union — No. 57 (1 year)
Small Workplaces
- Embers Credit Union — No. 36 (3 years)
- Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union — No. 60 (6 years)
- United Bay Community Credit Union — No. 67 (3 years)
