Michigan Credit Union Foundation Board Nominations Open

Self-nominations are now being accepted for trustees of the Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF). Eligible individuals may nominate themselves by completing and returning the self-nomination form.

At their June 26 meeting, MCUF members will hold an election for three MCUF trustee positions.

MCUF works with cooperative donations to help credit unions thrive and serve Michigan communities through financial education, community reinvestment and professional development support.

There are seven MCUF trustees: six with two-year staggered terms and three chosen each year. Dave Adams, Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) CEO, or his designee, automatically holds the seventh position. Three individuals will be elected for a two-year term to expire in 2020. Two of the three trustees with terms expiring this year have indicated they intend to seek reelection.

To qualify for election as an MCUF trustee, those interested must be (1) a member of, and (2), a director, credit committee, or supervisory committee member, manager/chief executive officer or senior management employee who reports directly to, or recommended by the manager/chief executive officer of the credit union that is a League member in good standing.

The self-nomination form must be received at MCUL by May 17. If the number of nominees received is three or more, no nominations will be accepted after May 17 and there will be no nominations from the floor. If there are less than three nominees, nominations will be accepted from the floor.

Please visit the MCUF website or contact MCUF Executive Director Beth Troost for more information.
