ASFM Golf Outing Raises More Than $45,000 for Legislative Advocacy
Credit union industry leaders from across Michigan gathered on July 19 to play golf and boost grassroots advocacy efforts at the annual A Stronger Financial Michigan Golf Outing in East Lansing.
112 golfers participated in the event at Forest Akers West golf course on the campus of Michigan State University and a record 45 sponsors helped raise scholarship funds that will go toward the Michele Myrick Scholarship Fund. Scholarships help credit union leaders attend important grassroots lobbying events such as the CUNA GAC and Hike the Hill in Washington.
At the dinner, awards were given to the two top scoring teams, and men’s and women’s closest to the pin, longest drive and longest putt. The team winning first place was Terri Papiersky, Mike Gilbert, Eric Samon and Steve Barrons from South Central CU. The team award for second place went to Doug Clark, Randy Penner, Erika Bauer and Tom LeDuc.Go to main navigation
