Register Now for Financial Counseling Certification Training

The Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) funding brings the National Credit Union Foundation’s Enhanced FiCEP self-study training program to Michigan again this year to assist participants in becoming a CUNA Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor at the affordable cost of $416. Registration is now open until April 15 for this unique financial counseling training program for credit union staff that combines the lower cost and convenience of a self-study program with the group hands-on learning and networking of a live CUNA school. Nearly 400 Michigan credit union professionals at all levels have participated in this program in the last five years. This training is useful for enhancing all member interactions including lending and collection activities and financial education and counseling. The Enhanced FiCEP program is a unique partnership between the Foundation's REAL Solutions program, CUNA's Center for Professional Development (CUNA CPD), credit union leagues and credit unions to train staff who are then able to give professional financial counseling and education to help members better prepare for their future and to assist when they are faced with financial difficulties. This enhanced version of the program includes self-study modules along with eight webinars (one per module) which will review the printed materials and add real-life experiences, as well as two in-person meetings which will feature networking, education and proctored exams.
