Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union Supports Alpena Farmers Market

Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) was proud to support the Alpena Farmers Market by partnering to host a Locavore Dinner.

The Alpena Farmers Market partnered with AAACU to host the 2nd annual Locavore Dinner fundraiser at The Aplex in Alpena on Aug. 24. Local chef’s Eric and Kevin Peterson prepared a full-course farm-to-table meal using locally grown produce and meat feeding roughly 350 community members. Along with dinner, many local businesses and community members donated items towards the event to help raise funds. A Chinese raffle, silent auction and live auction all took place that evening helping to raise over $11,000 for the Alpena Farmers Market.

Local Future Farmers of America (FFA) students volunteered their time to help clean up that evening as well as make centerpieces and a corn hole set that were auctioned off later in the evening with all funds from those items benefiting FFA.

AAACU is proud to support local community events like the Alpena Farmers Market Locavore Dinner that promotes buy local, eat local, borrow local.
