CU Spark Tank

Participating in CU Spark Tank has been one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences of my career. The opportunity to develop a unique concept of my own, craft it into a comprehensive presentation and present it across multiple levels of the competition was both challenging and deeply fulfilling.

The process pushed me beyond my comfort zone, accelerated my personal and professional growth, and allowed me to showcase my skill set in a meaningful way. I’m excited to see this competition continue to grow and to watch more young professionals step forward with innovative ideas that will shape the future of the credit union industry.

I am not a great public speaker, and my nerves get me every time, but I was very proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and working through each step. Semi-finals was an awesome experience, and everyone had brilliant ideas — I wanted to take portions of each idea back to my credit union.

I’ve worked with credit unions for nine years now, and while I’ve heard about the cooperativeness of credit unions and heard stories, I never saw it in person like I did during the YP Summit and ACE. Seriously, what a wonderful industry we all work in. I can’t wait to engage in the credit union movement more than I have been and can’t wait to see where each young professional goes within their own careers!
