New Credit Union Affordability Toolkit Available to Credit Unions

As rising costs continue to put pressure on household budgets across the country, credit unions are helping members stretch their dollars through lower loan rates, fewer fees and a not?for?profit, member?first approach. To support consistent messaging around that value, the League System has released a new Credit Union Affordability Toolkit for credit unions.

Announced on May 5, 2026, the Credit Union Affordability Toolkit is a complimentary, fully customizable communications resource available to credit unions through the League System. It is the latest release in a series of shared toolkits planned throughout 2026 to support education, outreach and advocacy efforts across the credit union system.

The toolkit is designed to help credit unions clearly connect everyday products and services to real financial outcomes for members. On average, credit union members save hundreds of dollars each year through lower loan rates and reduced fees. Over time, those savings can ease financial strain and support stronger financial well?being in local communities.

“The League System is focused on delivering practical, high?impact resources that benefit credit unions of all sizes,” said Brad Miller, President of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL). “By collaborating to underwrite these toolkits, Leagues are able to offer customizable, no?cost resources that help credit unions clearly articulate their value in today’s economic environment. Affordability is top of mind for consumers, and this toolkit helps credit unions meet that moment.”

Built for flexibility, the Credit Union Affordability Toolkit can be easily incorporated into existing communications strategies. Credit unions can use the materials across digital channels, earned media efforts and in?person community engagement to reinforce their affordability message.

Toolkit components include:

All materials are fully customizable, allowing credit unions to add local branding, data points and contact information.

The Affordability Toolkit builds on earlier releases in the League System’s 2026 toolkit series and reflects AACUL’s continued focus on strengthening credit unions through shared resources, aligned messaging and collaboration across the system.
