Gerber FCU Colleagues Complete CPR, First Aid and AED Training

Gerber Federal Credit Union colleagues recently participated in on-site First Aid, CPR and AED certification training, strengthening their ability to respond quickly and confidently during medical emergencies.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of colleagues, members and visitors, Gerber FCU has also purchased Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for placement at each branch location. The addition of the equipment, combined with hands-on emergency response training, ensures life-saving resources are readily available when needed.

“At Gerber FCU, we care deeply about the people we serve and the colleagues who help us fulfill our mission every day,” said John Buckley, President/CEO. “By investing in CPR, First Aid and AED training, along with placing AEDs in all of our branch locations, we're taking proactive steps to create a safer environment and help ensure we're prepared to respond when every second counts.”

The training was led by Certified Trainer Mark Wyn and incorporated the latest science and best practices in emergency response. Participants learned how to recognize and respond to a wide range of situations, including burns, cuts, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, heat- and cold-related emergencies, and breathing and cardiac events involving both adults and children. The course also included instruction on CPR techniques and the proper use of AEDs.

The initiative reflects Gerber FCU’s commitment to fostering a culture of preparedness, care and community responsibility. By equipping branch locations with AEDs and providing colleagues with life-saving skills, the credit union is helping protect the health and safety of those who work in, visit and do business with its branches.
