Community Choice Credit Union to Distribute 3,200 Free Backpacks Across Michigan Through Give Big Give Backpacks Initiative
Give Big Give Backpacks will return on Thursday, July 30, for a statewide effort to support students heading into the new school year, distributing 3,200 free backpacks filled with essential school supplies at locations across Michigan.
The annual initiative will provide 400 backpacks at each of eight Community Choice locations, helping ensure students have the tools they need to start the school year prepared and confident. The backpack giveaway will take place at Community Choice Credit Union Member Centers in Livonia, Warren, Roseville, Jackson, Hillsdale and Muskegon (Harvey Street), as well as at the Redford Community Center in Redford and Yack Arena in Wyandotte.
“Give Big Give Backpacks is about neighbors helping neighbors and making sure every student has the tools they need to start the school year with confidence,” said Kelsey Royer, Community Choice Foundation Specialist. “When our team members, members, volunteers and community partners come together, we can create a meaningful impact for thousands of families across Michigan.”
Each backpack will be filled with essential supplies such as notebooks, writing materials and other classroom necessities. The initiative is made possible through the support of volunteers, donors and community partners committed to investing in education and supporting local families.
The annual backpack giveaway aims to help students across Michigan start the school year equipped with the supplies they need while bringing together volunteers, donors and community partners in support of local families.
