American 1 Credit Union Donates $50,000 to Support Round Lake Park Revitalization

American 1 Credit Union has donated $50,000 to support the restoration of Leoni Township’s Round Lake Park and pavilion, located at 638 Round Lake Drive in Michigan Center.

Previously owned by the Polish Falcons, Round Lake Park is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and serves as a recreational resource for local families. The contribution supports ongoing efforts to restore and preserve the park while enhancing community gathering spaces for area residents.

The investment reflects American 1 Credit Union’s continued commitment to supporting quality-of-life initiatives and strengthening communities throughout the region.

“American 1 is proud to help preserve community spaces that bring people together,” said Martha Fuerstenau, president and CEO of American 1 Credit Union. “We’re honored to support the revitalization of Round Lake Park and help ensure this valued community asset continues to serve and inspire residents for generations to come.”

Leoni Township officials said the park plays an important role in providing accessible outdoor recreation opportunities for residents.

“Township parks serve as a primary source of recreation for many residents, offering accessible and affordable opportunities for outdoor activity, social connection, and community engagement,” said Howard Linnabary, township supervisor. “We are thankful for American 1’s support of these initiatives and their commitment to going above and beyond to support our community.”

The project highlights the important role credit unions play in supporting community development initiatives. Through contributions that extend beyond financial services, credit unions continue making a positive difference in the lives of their members and local communities.
