Zeal Expands Statewide Presence Following Completion of Bank Acquisition
Zeal Credit Union announced the completion of its acquisition of Gogebic Range Bank after receiving all required regulatory approvals. Effective Jan. 1, the former Gogebic Range Bank locations and employees became part of Zeal Credit Union, expanding Zeal’s reach across Northern Michigan.
The acquisition brings together two Michigan-based financial institutions with a shared focus on community service and member financial well-being. Zeal now holds more than $1 billion in assets and operates 17 branches statewide. The credit union retained all employees and branch locations and stated it plans to continue investing in the communities previously served by Gogebic Range Bank.
Julie Kreinbring, President and CEO of Zeal, said, “United, Gogebic Range Bank and Zeal Credit Union will remain deeply rooted in the communities we serve. By combining financial strength with local insight, we will continue to strengthen financial well-being in the lives of the members we serve throughout Michigan.”
Neil Beckman, former President of Gogebic Range Bank and now a member of Zeal’s executive leadership team, said, “This transition ensures our communities continue to be served by a financially strong, Michigan-based institution that values hardworking Americans, supports local businesses and uplifts the communities they serve.”
Customers of the former Gogebic Range Bank, now members of Zeal Credit Union, can expect continuity in their everyday banking services. Over time, members will have access to Zeal’s expanded statewide branch network, digital services and member-focused products.
