Vibe Credit Union Launches Good Vibes Foundation to Strengthen Community Investment
Vibe Credit Union has launched the Good Vibes Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) public charity designed to deepen and expand the credit union’s long?standing commitment to supporting people and neighborhoods across Southeast Michigan.
With more than 74,000 members and $1.36 billion in assets, Vibe has a long history of local giving. The new foundation creates a dedicated structure for that work, enabling the credit union to move more quickly, partner more intentionally, and fund programs that address core community needs.
As a member-owned cooperative, Vibe has always reinvested earnings back into the communities it serves. The Good Vibes Foundation extends that cooperative model, transforming local success into direct support through grants and strategic partnerships.
“The concept of elevating community and creating opportunity has been at the heart of our work at Vibe Credit Union,” said Stephanie Leahy, Vice President of Community Impact at Vibe Credit Union and Executive Director of the Good Vibes Foundation. “The Good Vibes Foundation will provide a platform to make an even more significant impact and invest in the essential building blocks that allow communities to grow with dignity and stability.”
Foundation Areas of Focus
The Good Vibes Foundation will support organizations delivering work in three key areas:
- Financial Education: Providing practical, real?world learning around budgeting, credit, and saving to help individuals build sustainable futures.
- Food Security: Supporting initiatives that ensure consistent access to nutritious food for the 1.5 million Michiganders facing hunger.
- Housing Stability: Partnering with organizations that help neighbors find and maintain safe, stable housing.
The Foundation has also built a simplified grant application process to reduce barriers for nonprofits. Funding will be directed to organizations located within Vibe’s branch communities, ensuring support remains close to home. The first grant cycle will open in Spring 2026.
To help launch its work, the Foundation will host a pickleball fundraiser on March 21 at Paddle & Par in Beverly Hills.
