Marshall High School Seniors Hired for School Credit Union Operations

Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU) has hired Marshall High School students Jonah Kue and Maura Young as the 2025-26 CU in School Student Tellers.

Both students began training with MCCU in June to prepare for their roles at the Marshall High School CU in School branch and MCCU’s Marshall branch. As Student Tellers, they will handle transactions at the school branch, create financial learning opportunities for peers and staff, and gain hands-on experience in the financial services industry.

As part of their roles, Jonah and Maura will complete an independent study under the guidance of MCCU’s Community & Youth Engagement Manager, Laura Van Dyke. The course will focus on personal finance, credit union operations and career exploration.

"Our goal is for student tellers to take this unique opportunity, gain essential employment experience, and empower them to make informed financial decisions as well as a source of financial guidance for others in their community,” said Van Dyke.

The Marshall High School CU in School branch will open for the 2025-26 school year on Friday, September 5, with a grand opening celebration. Students and staff will have the opportunity to win prizes during the event. The branch will remain open on Fridays during lunch through May 15, 2026.

MCCU has partnered with Marshall Public Schools since 2001 to provide financial education through the CU in School program.
