Community Choice Credit Union Reports 13,359 Volunteer Hours in 2025
Community Choice Credit Union reported contributing 13,359 volunteer hours in 2025, marking its highest annual total to date. The hours were completed in partnership with nonprofit organizations and community initiatives across Michigan.
The credit union stated that the milestone reflects the continued growth of its Give Big program, which engages members and team members in coordinated service efforts throughout the year.
“At Community Choice Credit Union, giving back is at the heart of who we are,” said Kelsey Royer, Volunteer Coordinator at Community Choice. “Our team members and member’s commitment to serving have proven that when we Give Big even small acts can create lasting impact.”
Community Choice reported volunteer participation in communities from Detroit to Muskegon and Jackson to Holland, supporting 145 nonprofit partners focused on food insecurity, housing, education and community health.
September represented the credit union’s highest month of activity as part of its Give Big Month emphasis. Volunteers completed 2,025 hours across 48 initiatives, including building accessibility ramps, assembling food packages and constructing beds for children.
Additional efforts during 2025 included:
- Give Big, Give Blood: Blood drives that the credit union reports may help save more than 1,000 lives.
- Lace Up Shoe Drive: Collection of 1,059 pairs of shoes for redistribution and recycling, raising funds for future community programs.
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace: Construction of 100 beds and donation of 63 bedding items for children.
- Hygiene Kits: Assembly and distribution of 1,000 hygiene kits through five nonprofit partners during the annual Team Enrichment Day.
- PJs & Pages Drive: Donation of more than 1,000 pairs of pajamas and children’s books to support literacy efforts and family routines.
