American 1 Donates $21,500 to Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office to Support K9 Program
American 1 Credit Union announced a $21,500 donation to the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to support its K9 program.
Martha Fuerstenau, CEO of American 1 Credit Union, said, “American 1 is honored to support the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office and its K9 program. These dogs play a vital role in keeping our communities safe, and we are proud to contribute to such an important initiative.”
American 1’s donation will support the purchase of a new K9 from Magnum K-9 in Quincy, Michigan, along with a 210-hour training course for the handler, Deputy Colton Bassage. It will also cover the ongoing monthly training required by law and provide essential equipment such as training scents, leash, harness, bite sleeve, and toys. Additional needs, including medical kits, body armor, and food, will be supported through separate donations.
“We are grateful for American 1 Credit Union’s generosity and dedication to the Hillsdale community,” Hodshire said. “This partnership ensures our K9 unit has the resources needed to serve and protect Hillsdale County effectively.”
