The Michigan Credit Union Foundation has experienced a year of supporting credit union community enrichment and financial well-being impact, while also supporting young credit union professional development. Thank you to all of the credit unions that have helped, both with donations and by participating in MCUF activities.
So far this year, 98 Michigan credit unions have received funding from, or been involved in MCUF programs and initiatives. That’s 58% of our credit unions in the state!
Some highlights of MCUF impact this year include:
- 26 Community Enrichment Support grants and 22 CU Kind Day grants totaling more than $112,000 in funding
- Nearly 175 Financial Reality Fairs, preparing more than 17,000 teens for financial independence
- Training assistance for 219 new certified credit union financial counselors and 60 attendees at the MCUF Financial Health Workshop
- As well as supporting credit union employee development with funding for our Young Professional group, 34 scholarships to the AC&E and 4 new CEO scholarships to the Executive Summit
This impact has all been possible only with the help of our cooperative financial donors which include 79% of Michigan credit unions this year.
