Michigan Credit Unions Donate Over $303K During 2025 CU Kind Day
On October 13, 2025, credit unions across Michigan participated in CU Kind Day, an annual event focused on community giving and volunteer service.
This year, 70 credit unions took part, organizing efforts that engaged 3,859 volunteers who contributed a total of 10,878 volunteer hours. These efforts supported 581 organizations across the state and resulted in $303,007.63 in goods and donations contributed to local communities.
“CU Kind Day is an important example of what happens when we act collectively in service to others,” said MCUF Executive Director Andrea Tucker. “Each year, we see the scale of this initiative grow, and we’re proud to help credit unions of all sizes take part.”
The Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) team participated in the day by volunteering at two local nonprofits, The Greater Lansing Food Bank, a non-profit ensuring families and neighbors in the Lansing area have access to the nutritious food they need to support their health and well-being, and The Rainbow Connection, an organization headquartered in Rochester that grants wishes and provides support services to Michigan children battling life-threatening illnesses.
