MCUF Wraps Up 2025 Financial Counselors Training Program with a Financial Health Workshop
The Michigan Credit Union Foundation congratulates the over 220 participants who recently completed the MCUF Michigan Enhanced Financial Counselor Certification Program. Americans often learn about finances from their families and friends, or just go it alone. The need for expert help is real, especially when so many face uncertain economic futures. With certified credit union financial counselors on staff, credit unions are better able to:
- Help members experiencing financial difficulties,
- Demonstrate the credit union difference,
- Attract new members,
- Grow product and service revenue.
The MCUF funds program enhancements which include:
- A web portal with webinars, study guides, counseling documents and additional resources.
- A supplemental virtual group training session led by FiCEP instructors to expand knowledge and provide hands-on practice with experienced counselors.
- A live Zoom exam prep session.
- One online proctored testing session and more!
The MCUF is wrapping up this year’s FiCEP program with a dynamic workshop focused on advancing financial well-being for all. This interactive, one-day event will bring together credit union professionals and thought leaders to explore innovative strategies, programs, and partnerships that support the financial health of members and communities.
This year’s workshop features expert-led sessions on building and managing impactful financial coaching programs, positioning financial health as a strategic differentiator, and leveraging new insights from the updated Michigan ALICE report to better support members facing financial hardships and so much more.
The workshop is ideal for financial counselors (new and seasoned), as well as anyone else interested in learning more about member financial health and well-being. Join us on Sept. 17 at The Henry Center in Lansing!
