Deb Shipman from Ascensus to Deliver MCUL IRA: Essentials and Advanced Virtual Workshops
MCUL’s popular IRA training returns in 2026 with Deb Shipman, CIS, CIP, CISP from Ascensus leading the “Essentials” and “Advanced” agenda topics. Credit union staffers who work with members and handle individual retirement accounts will have access to the virtual workshop next month on Feb. 10-11.
The first day includes an introduction to IRAs and how to establish them, along with information on funding, distributions and portability. The second day covers legal issues, excess contribution, required minimum distributions, beneficiary options and withholding requirements and forms. The sessions take place each day from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with breaks for $294 per person for affiliated credit unions.
