#weCUgrads: Join the Nationwide Initiative to Show Support of 2020 Graduating Class

A handful of credit unions across the country have been working on an initiative to show support for the 2020 graduating classes. The following are the credit unions leading the charge on this campaign: Pinnacle Credit Union (Georgia), Heartland Credit Union (Minnesota), Heartland Credit Union (Kansas), Embers Credit Union (Michigan) and Community West Credit Union (Michigan).

The credit unions' goal is to get credit unions in each state to participate in a challenge. The challenge is simple: during the week of May 4, use the hashtag “#weCUgrads” on your social media platforms.

If we can get credit unions involved across the US we could really show the nation the strength that credit unions have by working together!

Pinnacle has developed the following to help make this challenge as easy as possible for credit unions:

  • Created a #weCUgrads watermark for your social media posts and banner
  • #weCUgrads templates and Profile frame
  • Social media schedule – this is what our group has come up with, but every credit union is welcome to edit and customize to your CUs personality and capabilities
  • Generic Senior Ideas – this is to help you expand upon this challenge if your credit union wants to go "all in".

If you would like a copy of anything mentioned, email Amanda Knodel at Pinnacle.

One Michigan Credit Union has already taken up Pinnacle on this challenge, Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU).

“With our strong partnership with area schools and mission to provide financial education, it made sense that we also participate in the initiative,” said MCCU Financial Education Coordinator Andrea Tucker.

MCCU has encouraged other area credit unions to join in the challenge as well. The challenge is an opportunity for credit unions to help shine the spotlight back on graduating seniors and all that they have accomplished over the years.
