DCECU Wins National Award Recognizing Direct Financial Benefit to Members
For the fifth time, Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union has been recognized by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for ranking as one of the nation’s best credit unions in providing direct financial benefits to members.
DCECU received CUNA’s Benefits of Membership Award, also known as the Member Benefits Top Performance Award. The credit union was honored in the asset category exceeding $1 billion.
CUNA compared DCECU’s rates, fees and account yields to those of competing banks, determining that each DCECU member household received an average direct financial benefit of $1,124 in 2018 compared to using the same services from competing banks. This dollar amount represents a more than 39% increase from DCECU’s previous high: an award-winning $806 in average direct financial benefit to member households.
“We are proud to offer great rates, engage in principles-based decision-making every day, and provide rebates and rewards when we are able” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “Receiving the CUNA Member Benefits Top Performance Award for the fifth time reinforces for us that these actions meaningfully contribute to meeting our goal of helping our members build a strong financial future.”
According to CUNA, the award “recognizes credit unions that offer exceptional financial value to their members in the form of benefits. Credit unions that showcase exemplary value are recognized for their achievements.”
