Help Members Build a Strong Future with Financial Counseling Certification Training

Funding from the Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) brings the National Credit Union Foundation’s Enhanced Financial Counseling Training Program to Michigan again this year to assist participants in becoming CUNA Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors.

Registration is open until April 12 for this unique financial counseling training program for credit union staff. It combines the lower cost and convenience of a self-study program with the group hands-on learning and networking of in-person training.

The enhancements supplement CUNA’s FiCEP curriculum with webinars and live training sessions to provide credit union employees with the skills and knowledge to guide members in increasing their financial capability and becoming more productive and loyal credit union members. These skills can be utilized in all member service interactions including account management, lending, collections and financial education.

The program provides successful participants with the CUNA designation of Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor. MCUF funding brings this program to Michigan for the discounted cost of $416. In addition, to assist smaller credit unions in obtaining this training, a limited number of full scholarships are available to credit unions with assets of $50M or less to apply.
