Michigan Heads to D.C. for the 2019 CUNA GAC
The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), the largest credit union conference in the country, starts Sat., March 9.
The Michigan credit union industry will be represented by 136 credit union professionals and volunteers. They will be meeting with other industry professionals, attending breakout sessions and keynote speakers and meeting with legislators to talk credit union priorities during Hill visits.
The event’s first keynote speaker, on Sunday, will be history-making polar explorer, mountaineer and The New York Times bestselling author Alison Levine.
“Levine’s success in extreme environments, along with her experience as an adjunct professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is remarkably impressive,” said CUNA Chief Products and Services Officer Todd Spiczenski. “Attendees are sure to walk away from her keynote address feeling motivated to conquer big challenges and opportunities.”
Levine has worked in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, earned an MBA from Duke University, and spent three years working for Goldman Sachs. She left Goldman in 2003 to serve as deputy finance director for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his successful bid to become Governor of California.
Michigan’s agenda kicks off Sunday evening with a Welcome Reception, held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
