UMCU Donates More Than $5,500 to Michigan Medicine Children's Hospital

UMCU presenting toys at CS Mott HospitalUniversity of Michigan Credit Union (UMCU) recently donated more than $5,500 in toys and gifts to the Michigan Medicine C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. This donation was made possible by the generosity of members and team members who contributed to UMCU’s annual “Toys for Mott” toy drive.

Nov. 5 through Dec. 7, UMCU invited members to donate new, unwrapped toys at any branch location. In addition to toys, UMCU also collected monetary donations at the branches and through internal initiatives such as “Jeans for a Cause,” in which employees donate $15 every month to wear jeans Wednesdays and Fridays. The monetary contributions were used to purchase additional toys.

UMCU team members volunteered at the Michigan Medicine C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Holiday Store to help wrap all of the gifts. Families of the children at the hospital visit the store to select holiday gifts for each child in their family for free.

“Our Toys for Mott toy drive has become an annual tradition for UMCU because it’s one of our favorite opportunities to make a positive impact with our members,” said Tiffany Ford, UMCU’s president and CEO. “We are overwhelmed with gratitude to all who donated this year to help make the holidays special for the families of the children at Michigan Medicine C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.”

UMCU also donated $1,100 to the Michigan Medicine Natal Intensive Care Unit and $1,000 to the Genesys Hospital Pediatric Department.
