2019 Compliance Conference to Address Cannabis Issues

Online registration will open soon for the MCUL & Affiliates 2019 Compliance Conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Lynn Ciani, chief risk officer and general counsel at Numerica Credit Union in Washington, on her expertise with cannabis banking.

Ciana will provide the keynote on "Canna Money: It Will be Everywhere." Her presentation will offer considerations credit unions will need to address regardless of whether they are going to bank the cannabis industry. Her discussion will include lending, deposits and the Bank Secrecy Act.

Following this, Ciana will facilitate a breakout session on "Thinking of Banking Canna: Now What?" Here, attendees will be able to get information as to what to consider in determining whether to bank the canna industry, how to establish a canna banking program and how to manage it going forward.

The 2019 Compliance Conference will take place Feb. 20–21 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bay City—Riverfront. Full conference registration is $339 with a one-day registration option of $189. Watch for additional details when online registration becomes available.
