Alliance Catholic Credit Union Opens New Branch in Southwest Detroit

On Oct. 30, Alliance Catholic Credit Union (ACCU) opened the doors to its newest branch, located at the corner of Vernor and Junction in Southwest Detroit. This is the ninth branch in the ACCU network and the first one in the City of Detroit.

”We’re excited to be part of this vibrant area,” said Rob Grech, president/CEO of ACCU. “The new branch is near several Catholic parishes and schools. We feel it will be a great addition to the community.”

ACCU renovated the first floor of the Albert Kahn-designed Detroit Savings Bank building, combining some of the original architecture with modern features. The full-service branch has an experienced, Spanish-speaking staff and a separate community meeting room featuring an original mural from local artist Vito Valdez.

“We are fully committed to being an active, involved part of the community,” said Nubia Chavez, ACCU Branch Manager at the new location. “Our new neighbors have been so welcoming. We look forward to celebrating with them and being a part of the area’s growth.”

On Nov. 28, ACCU will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the branch.

ACCU serves the Catholic community throughout Michigan and has additional branches in Dearborn, Melvindale, Taylor, Rochester, Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Troy and West Bloomfield.
