MSGCU Named Sterling Heights Diversity Distinction Award Recipient

MSGCU Diversity AwardAt the 11th Annual Sterling Heights Diversity Distinction Awards Reception, the City of Sterling Heights Ethnic Community Committee named Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) the recipient of a Sterling Heights Diversity Distinction Award. The committee unanimously selected MSGCU for actively championing diversity in the city of Sterling Heights and surrounding communities.

“At MSGCU, members and communities are weaved into the fabric of everything we do,” said Ann Jones, MSGCU vice president of marketing and business development. “We are humbled to be part of a diverse and inclusive community in Sterling Heights and are honored to receive this award. Being recognized in this way reinforces our mission of people helping people and the great work of our credit union.”

The MSGCU Community Relations team leads the credit union’s local outreach and community support to members where and when needed, including donating time and money to local charities and participating in events in support of community-building initiatives. As part of their Year of Giving Back program, MSGCU branches work directly with local organizations that provide education and basic needs to our communities, donating resources to raise awareness about important issues affecting Michigan.

This year, MSGCU Sterling Heights branches donated $2,000 to the Play-Place Autism and Special Needs Center. The center is dedicated to inclusion, acceptance and support of children with autism and their families.

Dedication to community outreach is just one of the many ways MSGCU lives the ‘people helping people’ philosophy, while contributing to members’ financial success and wellbeing. To learn more visit their website.
