Donations Raise $47,566 for U.P. Flood Relief
Thanks to donations from the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL), Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF), credit union chapters and credit unions throughout Michigan, $47,566 was raised to aid families affected by historic flooding in the U.P. in June.
Donations helped distribute 59 individual grants, ranging from $250 to $2,000 depending on damage and household income, to credit union members in need. David Rautiola, President/CEO of Michigan Tech Employees Federal Credit Union, and Connie Mikkola, President/CEO of Torch Lake Federal Credit Union, handled distribution of the funds.
“We received 68 total grant applications, and are pleased we were able to offer some level of assistance to most of them,” said Rautiola and Mikkola in a joint letter. “Things like this are the true example of the credit union difference.”Go to main navigation
