Cannabis Banking Decisions: Information via Webinar and at Summit
Providing financial services to legal cannabis related businesses may be the next big opportunity for credit unions to serve an unbanked market, but there is a lot to know and plan for before taking the leap.
To assist Michigan credit unions with such decisions, MCUL & Affiliates has collaborated with West Coast AML Services to deliver a webinar on July 24 from 10-11 a.m. (ET) titled, Cannabis Banking: Gatekeepers and the Department of Justice. The training is ideal for those who need to gain a better understanding of what is involved with AML compliance and to have a clearer understanding of the Department of Justice marijuana enforcement priorities. The webinar is priced at just $99 and is delivered live, without a recording.
Those considering cannabis banking at their credit unions will also want to attend the MCUL & Affiliates Executive Summit, being held Sept. 12–14 at The Inn at Bay Harbor near Petoskey. Here Patricia Neighbors, president/CEO of Community Credit Union in California, will share some of the day-to-day aspects of managing such services in a presentation, "Cannabis Banking: What Have I Gotten Myself Into?" Registration for the Executive Summit is $329 per person and attendees are encouraged to secure hotel accommodations soon.Go to main navigation
