Oakland County Chapter of Credit Unions Hosts Golf Outing
On June 21, 101 golfers and a dozen volunteers turned out on a picture-perfect day to support the Oakland County Chapter of Credit Unions Charity Golf Scramble, presented by Member First Mortgage.
This year’s outing was held at the Links of Novi Golf Club and benefited both CARE House of Oakland County and the Oakland Schools Homeless Student Education Program.
CARE House of Oakland County is a children’s advocacy center providing service to victims of child abuse and neglect. The Oakland Schools Homeless Student Education Program helps children who are homeless and need help with all school-related functions including school supplies, tutoring support and school activities and programs.
This year’s outing was a huge success thanks to the golfers, participating credit unions, sponsors and volunteers. Each of the two organizations received $6,000 from the event and were truly thankful for all of the support and kindness.
Unity Federal Credit Union took home first place, with Security Corporation and Credit Union ONE coming in second and third place, respectively.
“People helping people continues to be the philosophy of credit unions,” said Steve Dedene, Credit Union ONE’s vice president of compliance and risk. “Credit unions have a longstanding history of supporting and actively participating in the communities they serve.”Go to main navigation
