Registration Now Open for 2018 Executive Summit
Registration is now open for the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates and Credit Union Executive Society 2018 Executive Summit, Sept. 12–14 at The Inn at Bay Harbor near Petoskey. Designed for C-suite executives, the event provides time to network, uncover new opportunities and engage in fresh perspectives from trusted experts and peers. The Executive Summit provides the perfect venue for leaders who embrace innovation and helps them bring a higher level of creativity and problem-solving skills to all they do. Those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve hotel rooms early. The location is ideal for relaxing in an "up north" venue near shopping, a casino and diverse downtown dining like only a resort town can offer.
Peninsula Federal Credit Union Supports U.P. Flood Victims
In the credit union spirit of people helping people, Peninsula Federal Credit Union in Escanaba donated $1,000 to the Houghton Flood Relief Fund. Funds were sent to Michigan Tech Employees Federal Credit Union to assist in the cleanup efforts in Upper Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, where historic flooding has caused devastating damage to many communities.
Other Michigan credit unions interested in supporting the upper peninsula’s relief efforts are encouraged to visit MCUL.org to learn more about how to get involved. The Michigan Credit Union League and Michigan Credit Union Foundation have collectively pledged $20,000 toward ongoing relief efforts.
LAFCU Celebrates Statewide Expansion
To celebrate their statewide service expansion, there were prizes and refreshments at all LAFCU branches on June 15 highlighting that LAFCU services are now available to friends, family and businesses throughout the state. The initial emphasis for members within the larger geographic footprint is through online access to services, which has become the new normal in delivering financial services.
The credit union’s previous geographical service area consisted of 11 counties in mid- to south central Michigan.
Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union Donated to Alcona Community Schools
Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) recently presented $3,000 to Dan O’Connor, superintendent of Alcona Community Schools. The funds donated by AAACU will be used to purchase interactive projectors for preschool and special education classrooms. These classrooms will now be outfitted with the newest projection and interactive smartboard technology.
