Senator Gary Peters to Host Public Meetings in Four Michigan Cities

U.S. Senator Gary Peters plans to hold four public meetings across the state to engage with constituents. These meetings — to be held in Ypsilanti, Grand Rapids, Southfield and Flint — are a great opportunity for credit union professionals to attend and thank Senator Peters in person for his co-sponsorship and support of S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act.

S. 2155 was recently signed into law by President Trump, and will provide much needed regulatory relief for community financial institutions like credit unions.

“We truly appreciate the opportunity to sponsor and participate at this outstanding yearly event,” said John Kozich, Credit Union ONE’s vice president of community relations. “Each year, the hospital has an area of need which is selected to benefit from the fundraising that the Spring Spectacular produces, which is truly outstanding.”

Proceeds from the 2018 Spring Spectacular will benefit the Remote Specialist Visiting Providers Program (RSVP), which brings care into the homes of patients after they are discharged from the hospital.

CUNA Webinar Available June 20 on Compliance Changes

Compliance Changes: Game Plan for Training Boards and Staffs will be the topic of a June 20 webinar offered by CUNA from 12:30–1:30 p.m. (ET).

One thing that often gets overlooked after a regulatory change is the training of board and staff, which is an important step in implementing the proper controls for complying with changes. It is important to have a game plan in place for ensuring trainings take place before new rules go into effect.

This  webinar will help attendees learn different approaches when training these groups and develop a game plan for implementing a training program. The webinar is beneficial for compliance leaders or compliance staff who are interested in a leadership position. Registration is $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions.
