TBA Credit Union Presents Classroom Grants
In April, TBA Credit Union (TBACU) awarded Traverse Heights and Northern Michigan Partnership schools with classroom grants.
“We have enjoyed a great relationship between TCAPS and TBACU for many years,” said Chris Davis, an administrator at Northern Michigan Partnership. “The Northern Michigan Partnership is thankful for the generosity TBACU has given us. We look forward to continuing to work together for years to come!”
Susan Briggs, a teacher at Northern Michigan Partnership, received $1,000 to purchase a kiln for the Mosaic/Fused Glass course at the school. The new kiln will provide the opportunity for students to learn about fused glass and to learn how the kiln works. In addition, the students will be able to create larger projects, increasing efficiency and widening the boundaries for creativity.
Sarah DeKett received $800 to purchase art supplies for her classroom at Traverse Heights Elementary. She hopes to use the funds to introduce a wider range of art mediums for students, such as printmaking and sculpture.
“I am so excited to be able to purchase supplies for my artists here at Traverse Heights,” said DeKett. “I love being able to share a variety of art making materials and now I can teach students new ways to use their creativity. Thank you so much for the awesome opportunity.”Go to main navigation
