Credit Union ONE Participates in Capitol Day
On Oct. 17, a group of six Credit Union ONE employees participated in MCUL’s biannual event, Capitol Day. Capitol Day is a unique opportunity for credit unions from around the state to gather and discuss issues of importance to the credit union industry. Several important issues were discussed with lawmakers and how they impacts members, with the always present data breach issue at the forefront.
“As a financial cooperative owned by the members, it is important that we advocate on their behalf and ensure that proper safeguards are put in place to ensure their financial safety and security,” said Stephen Dedene, vice president of compliance and risk. “Our members are our number one priority.”
The event took place during International Credit Union Week and featured more than 100 credit union industry professionals. A number of events are held during the year where the industry interacts with lawmakers to advocate on behalf of credit unions and their members. Employees shared stories with the lawmakers about the real life impact data breaches have on its members, and to ensure that credit unions and their members are protected from consequences of data breaches, and all member data is stored in a secure manner.Go to main navigation
