Consumers Credit Union Named to ‘Best and Brightest Companies to Work For’ in West Michigan
For the 11th time, Consumers Credit Union was named one of “West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). This award celebrates and recognizes organizations’ commitment to employee engagement and satisfaction and its direct effect on company success.
Winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm, which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners. They include compensation, benefits and employee solutions; employee enrichment, engagement and retention; employee education and development; recruitment, selection and orientation; employee achievement and recognition; communication and shared vision; diversity and inclusion; work-life balance; community initiatives; and strategic company performance. Scores for each category are based on data reported by the companies HR departments and feedback gathered from employee surveys.
“Consumers Credit Union is fully committed to creating a strong culture focused on employee engagement. We understand that in order to deliver the highest level of member service, our employees have to love it here.” Says chief human resources officer, Shawn Premer.
Consumers’ efforts to create a balanced workplace continue to pay off with record employee and member satisfaction rates. The 2016 employee satisfaction survey revealed employee engagement is rated at 4.48 out of 5. This belief that satisfied, engaged employees provide the best service to members is central to the values Consumers’ champions throughout the organization. And it shows, Consumer’s 2016 member survey reported 98 percent of members are satisfied or highly satisfied.
Winners will be recognized on May 3 at an awards luncheon in Grand Rapids. Consumers regularly receives regional and national recognition for its wellness, training, and HR programs, including being named the nation’s Best Mid-sized Company to Work For in 2013 and 2016.Go to main navigation
