Roll of Supervisory Committee Explored this Spring

The supervisory committee is considered the eyes and ears of the membership and is entrusted with ensuring that personal information and hard earned money is protected. With continued pressure on the share insurance fund, every credit union should be getting ready for more regulatory scrutiny.

During the upcoming Spring Leadership Development Conference, ideal for directors, CEOs and committee members, attendees will explore how with smart preparation, more scrutiny does not have to mean more time spent on compliance.

Taking place April 28–30, participants will learn how to cut through the “regulatory speak” and where to concentrate preparation around key regulatory and operational issues to help put examiners at ease. The training will help credit unions be prepared as possible for the next round of examinations, by sharing the keys to understanding the logic behind an examination, the role each committee member plays in the management and risk oversight, and educating them on their role in the examination process.

The Spring Leadership Development Conference is being held at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant. Guests are welcome to join attendees and to purchase tickets for meals and a special guest outing to tour Michigan's famous Alden B. Dow house.
