Volunteers Explore Fraud Prevention at Spring Training
Virtual currencies are the new frontier for financial institutions and have been declared legal currencies that will have BSA implications that credit union volunteers need to understand.
At the upcoming MCUL Spring Leadership Development Conference taking place April 28–30, "Bitcoin and Virtual Currencies" is just one of more than a dozen sessions covering current topics and trends for directors, committee members and CEOs.
Attendees will find topics such as "Getting On-BOARD With HR," "Recruiting, Orienting and Retaining Board Members," "Uncovering the Supervisory Committees' Roll in the Exam Process" and "Board of Director Duties and Responsibilities."
As embezzlement and internal fraud issues remain of high priority, participants will find value in training about "Board Reporting: The Security Perspective," "Fraud Hunters: Understanding the Risks of Internal Fraud and What to do About Them," "Payments: Diligence and Vigilance for Credit Unions" and "Internal Fraud."
Being held at the fun-filled Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort adjacent to the Soaring Eagle Waterpark, a Saturday guest lunch outing and a tour of the Alden B. Dow home makes the event a perfect getaway for attendees and to bring along guests.
