Alliance Catholic Credit Union Announces Partnership With the Catholic High School League
Alliance Catholic Credit Union (ACCU) announced that it will become the exclusive financial institution sponsor of the Catholic High School League (CHSL).
“We are very excited to enter into this partnership with Alliance Catholic Credit Union,” said Vic Michaels, Director of the Catholic High School League. “Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit are eager to join forces with a financial institution that is inspired by Catholic values and traditions.”
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the CHSL’s involvement in school sports. As part of the Archdiocese of Detroit Office of Education, the CHSL oversees all Boys and Girls sports for 27 private high schools, serving students in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Lapeer, Washtenaw and Monroe counties. The CHSL also sets and oversees the health, physical education, athletic and safety initiatives for elementary schools across the diocese. Between the two platforms, the CHSL impacts more than 47,000 students overall.
“We are proud to be a sponsor of the Catholic High School League,” said Rob Grech, President/CEO of Alliance Catholic Credit Union. “ACCU is committed to the League Office’s efforts to promote health, safety, sportsmanship and citizenship among students and athletes.”
As part of the deal with CHSL, ACCU will give away two $5,000 scholarships in support of Catholic education.
“It’s a natural fit for ACCU since the Credit Union’s identity is tied to Catholicism,” added Keith Burke, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at ACCU. “We are continuing to seek out ways to support schools and parishes all over the metro Detroit area.”
ACCU will be recognized at all of the CHSL boys’ and girls’ playoffs and championships during the school year, including the Prep Bowl that draws approximately 25,000 attendees to Ford Field every October.Go to main navigation
