It is Time to Support the MCUF to Make a Difference Together

Please support the Michigan Credit Union Foundation with an annual donation and help us make a difference together. The foundation supports credit union community reinvestment and financial education activities that highlight the credit union social mission difference. With the help of credit union donors, the foundation has been able to adapt and change over the past year in ways that benefit more Michigan credit unions and more Michiganders. A priority in 2016 is to continue to expand and improve the foundation and credit union social mission support. To do so, cooperative financial support is needed.

Together in 2015, the foundation supported Michigan credit unions cooperatively in ways that we aim to build on in 2016, including:

  • 13 Community Reinvestment and Financial Education Grants, helping credit unions address community problems and deliver financial education.
  • 21 Financial REALity Fairs, preparing 2,500 teens for financial independence.
  • 53 Professional Development Scholarships for Financial Counseling Certification and CUNA Management School, empowering employees to better implement the credit union difference.

Please support the MCUF by submitting your 2016 annual donation by Jan. 31. While donations in any amount help make a difference, credit unions are encouraged to support the foundation at the suggested cooperative level of six cents per member. Having widespread support is important as we work together to show that the credit union philosophy of people helping people extends to credit unions helping credit unions.

The goal of the foundation is to involve all credit unions, both as financial supporters and as partners in foundation financial education, grants and scholarship programs. Visit here or contact MCUF executive director, Beth Troost, or by phone at 800-262-6285, ext. 453 to learn more, donate or apply for programs.
