Metro Detroit CUs Announce Merger
Livonia-based Parkside CU and Village Community CU in Dearborn have merged.
With the addition of $21 million-asset Village Community, Parkside now has assets of more than $100 million, along with 11 new employees, two new ATMs and more than 3,800 members. The credit union’s expanded field of membership now reaches a five-county area, including Oakland, Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb and Monroe counties.
Janet Thompson, CEO of Parkside CU, said that the expanded institution will benefit everyone in the community.
“It is our goal to provide the very best financial services available in the Metro Detroit area,” she said in a statement. “Our new branches and staff will help us to achieve this goal.”
Thompson was president and CEO of Village Community CU for several years before joining Parkside last summer.Go to main navigation
