Description: | Good afternoon! FuelMI is pleased to announce that registration for this Fall’s “hYPe The Hill” event is officially live! Registration link here - “hYPe The Hill” is the first of its kind event in Michigan modelled off of the “Hike The Hill” events put on by the MCUL but tailored for Young Professionals. Although the event is being put on by Fuel, registration is open to ALL Young Professionals in the Credit Union industry. The event will take place in the “State Room” of the State Capitol Building, in Heritage Hall on Wednesday, November 5th from 10am-2pm, and is meant to show Credit Union YP’s that advocacy doesn’t need to be about politics. Over the course of the event, we plan on building relationships with each of our lawmakers by establishing the common ground that we all just want what is best for our communities, sharing stories from our CU about how we each go about making a positive impact, as well as some educational sessions to begin and end the day with! There is no registration cost for this event and lunch will be provided, but seats are limited to 200 total attendees. The only cost for Credit Unions would be any travel-related expenses. While going through registration, please be sure to check that you will be attending as a YP and not a mentor. As part of the event, we will be bringing in “Advocacy Mentors” to help share communication tips & tricks for effectively sharing your stories, as well as help break the ice with Lawmakers if people are nervous to start that initial chat. The goal is to have a mentor at each table to dispel some of the anxiety that some may feel when it comes to engaging with lawmakers. The current event details are detailed below, but items in the agenda may be subject to change. An official Agenda will be sent out to all registered attendees as we get closer to the event. Please forward this to any driven young professionals at your organization who you think would like to attend and share stories of the great things we are all doing for our communities. If you have any follow up questions, or if you would be interested in attending as an Advocacy Mentor, please reach out to Joshua Buck at jbuck@mfcu.net Event Details
