Last July, the Michigan Credit Union League’s President/CEO, Patty Corkery, started a podcast series called “Credit Unions, Coffee and Conversations.” The program welcomes credit union leaders from across the State of Michigan to have a casual conversation with Corkery about the credit union industry and their career journeys.

“The purpose of this series is to have fun, casual and informative conversations that allow the Michigan credit union movement to get to know each other better and share ideas from our industry’s top leaders,” said Corkery.

The 10 episodes that made up the program’s first season, which ran from July to December, can be found here

In season one, Corkery talked with credit union executives, such as CASE CEO Jeff Benson, MSUFCU CEO April Clobes, TRUE Community Credit Union CEO Chrissy Siders and many others, as well as special guest Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Credit Unions, Coffee and Conversation kicked off its second season this month with One Detroit Credit Union CEO Hank Hubbard, a Southeast Michigan native, has been with the 57-million-asset credit union since 1991.

The two discuss how to serve the underserved, the process of receiving grant funding and the benefits of being a micro-focused credit union. One Detroit’s CEO also shares his insights on the CDFI process and niche products and services available to small credit unions.
