Holzman to Talk Proposed FDCPA Rule Changes by CFPB
Chuck Holzman of Holzman Law will be speaking to the Credit Union Collection Consortium at their 27th season’s kickoff meeting on Oct. 9. Chuck will be discussing the rule changes regarding which the CFPB is currently taking comments.
This may be a once in a generation opportunity to change the rules that have been the standard for decades. With the advent of new technologies like email, texting and voicemail, the landscape of collections is in the midst of dramatic change.
This timely presentation is one credit union leaders won’t want to miss. The meeting is open to all credit union professionals. No reservations are necessary. The MCUL & Affiliates 2019 Telephone Collections School heads to Novi on Nov. 13. The event features Steve Peterson, an industry collections expert who will cover the top 12 collection tips, how to use the internet in collections and how to handle bankruptcy in collections and much more. Registration is available for $219 per person.
New United Financial Credit Union Location Coming to Bay County
United Financial Credit Union will be adding a new location in Bay County in the Fall of 2020. The location will be located at 6354 Westside Saginaw Road, at the corner of 3 Mile Road and Westside Saginaw Road in Bay City.
The credit union expects to break ground in early 2020, with a completion date in the fall. United Financial is currently working with TSSF Architects, Inc. for the design of this new location, which will feature some of the newest technology in member service delivery. The one-story, full-service branch will be able to process new accounts, mortgages, consumer loans, insurance products and wealth management services for personal or business members.
The lobby will feature teller pods for one-on-one personal attention, along with three private member offices. The nontraditional standalone drive thru will feature Live Personal Tellers, which offer service during extended hours.
Credit Union to Host Free Community Shred Day
FreeStar Financial Credit Union is hosting its fifth annual community shredding day Sat., Sept. 28, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at its Sterling Heights branch.
