Vibe Credit Union Donates to Organizations that Care

On Aug. 26, at their Livonia branch grand opening celebration, Vibe Credit Union awarded cash donations totaling $5,000 to five Livonia-based, not-for-profit organizations. The donations were a result of their VibeStrong Livonia contest, a Facebook promotion highlighting organizations doing great work in the Livonia community.

Over 6,000 votes were received during the three-week promotion, where the community voted for their favorite of five VibeStrong Livonia nominees via Vibe's Facebook page. Seedlings Braille Books for Children received the grand prize of $2,250, receiving 3,186 votes. They will use the donation to start a new program to introduce Braille books to children ages three and under.

"One of our brand pillars is Caring for the Community," said Allan McMorris, president. "This promotion truly allowed us to highlight others doing great work. We hope that our donations will enable each of these amazing organizations to further their mission to serve the Livonia community.”

The four other recipients of the VibeStrong Livonia donations in order of votes received were: Tail Waggers 1990, Stevenson High School, Livonia Jaycees, and American Legion Post 32 Myron H. Beals.

Tail Waggers 1990 plans to use the donation to further their mission to provide preventative care to pets in need. Stevenson High School will be able to increase their emergency fund, which is used to help students who are experiencing hardships.
