Nov. 30 Edition

  • Credit union security and technology staff, CEOs, risk managers, compliance professionals, policy makers and state examiners will all be interested in listening in to CUNA's upcoming webinar on The Anatomy of a Cybersecurity Hack. Registration is just $219 for CUNA members for the webinar, Dec. 4 from 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. (ET). The session will explain how hackers understand credit union operations and how it is necessary for credit union professionals to understand how hackers operate. How hackers go about identifying, surveilling, attacking and exploiting a credit union will be covered, to identify opportunities for credit unions to harden defensives, enhance detection capabilities and ultimately “kill” that attack along the way. This webinar is a part of the CUNA Cybersecurity eSchool with NASCUS which started Nov. 27.

  • Liquidity and Funding Risk is the topic of a CUNA webinar on Dec. 6 from 3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m. (ET). Participants will learn how to identify, manage and control liquidity risk, understand the critical elements in operational and contingency liquidity, establish best practices when forecasting cash flow needs and sources, as well as review external funding and asset liquidation options. Registration is $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions, which includes access to the recorded event.

Nov. 16 Edition

  • CUNA will offer a webinar on Top Employment Law Traps & How to Avoid Them on Nov. 26 from 3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. (ET). HR professionals must be prepared to manage a wide variety of employment law issues and claims. This session will help focus the attention on claims and issues more common to credit unions. Historical analysis of the most common claims raised against credit unions over the past few years will be shared as well as trends to expect during the coming year. Registration is $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions.

  • The Impact of FinTech Solutions on Bank/Customer Relationships and BSA Compliance will be discussed during a CUNA webinar taking place from 3:00 p.m.–3:15 p.m. (ET) on Nov. 27. This webinar is endorsed by CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council and will be beneficial for both new and seasoned BSA compliance officers, all compliance staff, executive-level personnel and any other credit union employees whose job requires an understanding of the BSA/AML requirements. CUNA-affiliated credit unions may register for $219.

Nov. 9 Edition

  • CUNA will be hosting a webinar on how to Identify Interest Rate and Market Risks on Nov. 15 from 3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m. (ET). The session will identify the four elements of interest rate risk and how they affect the credit union earnings and balance sheet, yield curve, basis, optionality and repricing risk, and will include a discussion of how a future interest rate increase will affect the balance sheet and income statement. Participants will learn to identify and manage elements of market risk, examine and analyze the factors that affect market value and analyze factors that affect market value and cause market risk. The webinar is available for $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions.

  • Top Employment Law Traps & How to Avoid Them will be the topic of a CUNA webinar taking place on Nov. 26 from 3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m. (ET). HR professionals must be prepared to manage a wide variety of employment law issues and claims and this session will help focus the attention on claims and issues more common to credit unions. Historical analysis of the most common claims raised against credit unions over the past few years will be shared as well as trends to expect during the coming year. The agenda will include regulations/laws to address: Equal Opportunity Act, Fair Labor Standards Act,     Part VII of the Civil Rights Act, NCUA Rule Part 748 and Fair Credit Reporting Act. Registration is $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions.

Nov. 2 Edition

  • Onboarding Employees will be the topic of a CUNA webinar on Nov. 6 from 11 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (ET). The session will cover what to do once the best candidate has been selected for an opening and how to start them off on the right foot with an engaging onboarding process. The ability to introduce new employees to a credit union, to make them productive and effective in the shortest possible time and to retain them is a critical business issue with bottom-line implications. During this session, the presenter will review best practices, checklists and sample onboarding plans, as well as help attendees define the objectives for an onboarding program. CUNA-affiliated credit unions may register for $219.
  • On Nov. 8, CUNA will present a webinar on Advanced Asset Liability Management from 3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m. (ET). Endorsed by the CUNA Finance Council, the training is beneficial for accounting staff, financial analysts, board of directors, CFOs and credit union staff who are interested in learning how to manage the financial growth of the credit union. Participants will discover how product design and pricing affects sensitivity of cash flows to changes in interest rates, how to develop analytic tools to determine “decay rates” (deposit product sensitivity) and about analyzing “duration” (market price sensitivity). Registration is $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions.
