Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union Donations Impact Local Communities

Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union’s (AAACU) four branches recently donated nearly $3,500 to local charities. Funds were raised through member donations and employee candy sales, raffles and dress-down Fridays.

The Alpena North branch presented $808 to Helen-Ann Cordes, coordinator for the Alpena County 4-H. 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization, and helps members engage in hands-on learning projects.

The credit union’s donation to Alpena County 4-H will provide scholarships for members to attend educational events and provide educational materials and supplies to 4-H members.

The Atlanta branch presented $853 to Brian Rogers, president of the Atlanta Fire/EMS Members Charity. Atlanta Fire/EMS assists community members by purchasing items or donating to families that have been affected by fires.

The Oscoda branch donated $1,164 to Relay for Life, an American Cancer Society event that gives communities across the globe the chance to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.

The Ossineke branch presented $627 to Mike Eller of the Hubbard Lake Fire Department, to support local emergency support and services within Hubbard Lake.

AAACU is proud of the generosity of its members and employees, which helps sustain the credit union’s positive impact on its communities.
