In Brief...

Dort Federal Credit Union Hosts Blood Drive

In partnership with Michigan Blood (VERSITI), Dort Federal Credit Union hosted a blood drive at their administrative offices in Grand Blanc on April 14. The blood that Michigan Blood collects stays local, benefitting more than 75 hospitals in the state. With the help of Dort Federal employees, 19 units of blood were collected, potentially saving 57 lives.

The credit union’s philosophy of “people helping people” is truly showcased through community partnerships like this. Dort Federal demonstrates their commitment to the communities they serve in a variety of different ways including volunteerism, fundraising and donations, sponsorships, free financial literacy programs and more. Each year Dort Federal supports many nonprofits like Michigan Blood including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club of Flint, Hurley Foundation, McLaren Foundation and Whaley Children’s Center.
